I have been a certified special education teacher for 10 years. I have had the fortune to teach in various environments in a handful of different states. I have taught elementary students for a majority of my career, but have also managed to squeeze in high school and middle students for three years. I love helping children learn.

I meet the student and work around their specific needs. If they are more energetic then I find things that will not only help them learn but will also allow them to use some of their excess energy. However if the student is more laid back I find more calm and relaxing ways to help them understand. I have a rewards system that allows the student to earn tickets that they can later use to get things that they can use.
I have helped my cousins, which are 9 and 11, in school for years with reading and writing. I am also able to help in environmental science and economics. In high school I completed both with an A-. Ever since graduating from college and moving to Chicago I make time during my week to volunteer at the Chicago Temple in the Loop to help a child develop reading and comprehension skills in the English language. What more better experience then to start at home by helping my little brother and sister. For the past five years I have tutored my brother and sister in many different subjects. I have done math, reading, science,history. Basically all elementary subjects.I am Bilingual and speak both English, and Spanish fluently.
I try to make the subjects fun for them. For example i bring out cubes, candy, or fruits for math problems so they can visually see the mathamatical problem.
