I am a Music Education Major at Towson University.

I have played Trumpet for 9 years, Clarinet for 3, and have taken numerous college methods courses that teach me how to play and teach many other instruments. I am a music education major at Towson University, but I live near Salisbury, MD, and love to help and tutor children in this field during the summer. I believe that every child has a right to learn. I believe that, no matter what kind of problem or learning disability that student has, that he/she deserves to learn. I would say that my teaching style is very interactive. Anyone can give instructions but I love feedback from a one on one situation as well as a group environment. I base alot of my instruction on analogies; when a person can relate an experience or another word to a term being tought, their understanding is broadened and 99% of the time embedded in the longterm memory. That to me is not only developing the ability to draw on a built up knowledge base, but also broadens ones ability to convey what has been learned.
I have always wanted to teach. When I was a child I would round up the kids in my neighborhood and make them do lessons that I created. I do remember they did not like that.
