I am a visual learner, and so my first approach to teaching is using visual aids. I usually draw, use diagrams, or try to paint a mental picture for my students of what I'm trying to teach them. I am excellent at explaining complex terms so any layperson can understand them. I have only worked with teenage/young 20s people, so have less experience with a younger crowd. I have learned teaching college students that if one teaching approach doesn't work, try another! I am willing and able to explain the same concept as many ways as needed for someone to understand. My students at BU rarely left my classroom confused.

I am currently an MA candidate in a Creative Writing program. As an undergraduate, I minored in Studio Art. I have been a church organist for the last 8 years. I have played the organ for 17 years. I also play the clarinet and saxophone (12 years). I have a firm grasp of music theory.
