My comments on tutoring Elementary Math : I am an expert at tutoring Elementary Math. I have been tutoring Elementary Math for over 20 years, and I know how to break down the concepts and make them easy. From times tables to fractions, I have easy methods that students relate to. For some students, especially students with certain learning disabilities, times tables are very hard to learn. If you're one of them, don't worry...You'll know your times tables soon! I used to hate math, now I love it.

i am pretty relaxed and informal, but I expect students to do the work assigned. I help, but I don't do the work for them. I use Socratic questioning to get students to understand the material. I stress learning concepts and building on them as opposed to memorizing or guessing enough to pass a test.
I received a BS in Horticulture from Va. Polytechnic Institute and State University. majored in Biology (Botany) for 3 years at Virginia Commonwealth Univ. and College of William and Mary. Recently retook Precalculus, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, and Calculus 3 at Virginia Western Community College. A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught kindergarten for three years and Pre-K for one year. I have my masters degree in reading and literacy. I am currently teaching homebound for a local school system. I have a valid VA teaching license in Prek-3.
