I have a Master's of Education degree with endorsements in English as a Second Language and Bilingual Education, and have been teaching grades K-8 for seven years. The first important step is to assess a specific goal then to lay out a plan to reach that goal in order to make steady progress. Motivation is key, and that key is different for every learner. Obtaining a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering has exposed me to advanced courses of Math and Science, two subjects which have always fascinated me. A Little Bit About Me...

When I am teaching I am very patient and try to organize the lesson or my assistance in steps. I'll have the child read the problem or question, ask what they know about it, see if they understand the question and proceed. The patient style helps me see what the student's strengths and weaknesses are so I know what they need to practice and focus on. If the child has multiple assignments or tasks I have them perform the more difficult ones first. Starting with the easy assignments may seem like it makes sense but I would prefer that the student have more energy for the tasks they'll have more difficulty with.
