Individual student needs become very apparent very quickly, especially in the subjects of language arts and reading. The first important step is to assess a specific goal then to lay out a plan to reach that goal in order to make steady progress. Motivation is key, and that key is different for every learner. When I attended college I became an Early Childhood Education major and volunteered in preschool and elementary schools. During my Student Teaching in Des Plaines I was in complete control of a Kindergarten classroom and later a 2nd Grade class.
