I have been a substitute teacher for the last 7 years at Groesbeck ISD working mainly with the high school area, and some at the middle school. I also teach an adult student at a local plant working on his GED. I am the primary instructor there. I write for several online freelance article sites and am paid to do that as well. I have passed my EC-12 Special Education test and also my Generalist 4-8 and am considered Highly Qualified in those 2 areas. I have to apply for my probationary certificate and lack the student internship area to complete my certification. I would do that upon getting a full-time teaching position. I have attained a MS in Counseling and Psychology, and a BS in Psychology with a Math minor. Through my journey into higher education I have been fortunate enough to motivate myself and others to push through tough courses by establishing study groups. I have participated in these groups and have learned that additional study time spent with someone more familiar with a subject is the difference between passing a course the first time and dropping the course to repeat it later. With over 20 years experience as an educator I have taught, tutored, and trained students from pre-school to adults. I hold an MA in Education and Counseling, a BA in Socialpsychology and an AA in Early Childhood Education. and two teaching credentials - k-8 and adult. I am a credentialed teacher and for the past three years I have taught grades k-12. My academic strengths are English - reading, writing, and literature, Spanish, elementary/junior high math, science, and social studies.
