I'm in my senior year of High School, I have worked with my siblings on their school all of my life. I've helped my little brother who has ADHD with his homework, I've worked with him through book projects, spelling tests, history homework, pretty much anything and everything. I'm also very talented in the English area, writing and grammar specifically. Can write with both my right and my left hands, I work well with children no matter the age. My teaching style is relaxed, yet rigorous. I expect students to work hard and achieve their goals. I utilize a variety of teaching styles in order to fit individual student learning styles, and I design lessons with creativity and a focus on real life applications. I have taught English and Composition for over twenty years at the junior high, high school, and college level. In addition, I have worked in publications and taught desktop publishing and writing at the high school and college level, and have worked directly as a managing editor for college publications.

As a tutor I have discovered that everyone learns differently; therefore, I try to find ways to adapt my own tutoring style to the learning styles of the people I tutor. I can be more hands-on if the student requires it, but I can also act as more of a general guide. I believe that it is important for the students to be in charge of the sessions, so I try my best to take my cues from them. I also think it is important to have realistic expectations of the students I tutor. My goal is not to make them English majors or professional writers, but to give them the tools they need to write as effectively as they possibly can. I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin River Falls with a degree in English and a minor in professional writing. I enjoy catering to the students learning style. I like to identify the students strong and weak points, and find ways to use what the student already has, to make his or her weak points stronger.
