I worked at the middle grades level in various subjects, as required, with a primary focus in math. I unfortunately do not have the materials left from my employ, but can tutor using computers, and school materials for reference.
The realization that children do well in small group instructional settings, and on an individual tutoring basis, is what I took most from my years in the classroom. My comments on tutoring Algebra : As one of the most important areas of Mathematics that can be utilized in various other branches of Mathematics and real life applications like Optimization, Econometrics and so on, Algebra needs a very good foundation. Algebra 1 teaches students various concepts, tools and techniques to understand basic linear equations and inequalities, word problems and hence apply them later in more advanced courses. It is crucial that a student knows how to work with fractions; both constants and variables, indices, linear equations, quadratics, polynomials, rational expressions and radical expressions as well as basic probability and data analysis. These topics will prepare student for further advancement and understanding.

Holding a Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics and Economics, I have knowledge of both Mathematics and its application to Economics as well as other real world situations.
