Now we have expanded to a center in Oak Park and we tutor all ages, from Pre-K to adults. Our subjects range from phonics to algebra. My comments on tutoring Elementary Phonics : Phonics are important for sounding out words but must be taught in some real context to make sense to students. I have materials to work with students.

Prefer to facilitate learning and provide more hands on activities. Try to connect reading with writing as the two subjects are very much intertwined in the skills they take. Great at teaching across the curriculum to help students in subject areas that require reading of nonfiction

The Achievement Centers, our after school tutorial/diagnostic clinic and before and after school care, is available for all ages and subjects. My comments on tutoring Elementary Phonics : I have my master's in elementary education.

In terms of my work experience I have done Response to Intervention (RtI) in which I would plan, implement and analyze reading and writing interventions as a means to get those struggling students at grade level or beyond. I have also substitute taught all subjects at all grade levels in various districts. Furthermore, I was a lead teacher for a first grade classroom and also was a co teacher in a split 1st/2nd grade classroom.
