My comments on tutoring ASVAB: Arithmetic Reasoning can be difficult. The secret is to "decode" the words and change the English to Math. The key is to find the formula that the word problems are built around.

The ASVAB AR is made up of only about 15 major types of problems. 90% require you to know the formula to solve the problem. For example a PERCENTAGE PROBLEM Is usually solved using this formula: % / 100 = Part / Whole. You can plug- in the values and solve for the missing "x". I can give you ALL of the formulas you will need on the Arithmetic Knowledge Section. We also review techniques for excelling on the PC, MK and WK sections of the ASVAB. I have over five years tutoring asvab students. I can help you with asvab math formulas and difficult problems. The best way to improve your score is to get a tutor, take a lot of tests and give yourself enough time to study and learn different techniques. I can help you developed your best learning style so you can do well in the asvab. Thank you.

I was a full-time sixth grade teacher with the International Baccalaureate program for elementary, middle school students. I created a classroom environment that was conducive to learning, and independent study. Recognizing my capability and talent I was given the opportunity to teach math and computers to high school students and also science and computers to all grade levels. I volunteer at the Short Pump Elementary School as a Math Helper and I am very comfortable using the Promethean Board. Twice in 2 consecutive years I reached to the final round of awards as the best teacher of the year who showed innovation in teaching by the Intel. I developed plans that assisted students who required individual attention with reading and math skills, as well as independent learners. I created enriching curriculums and developed engaging classroom environments of learning and socializ

I have been an educator for almost 20 years. I began my teaching career as a substitute teacher and immediately fell in love with teaching children with special needs. Desiring to continue to teach, I finished a Master's degree which gave me the endorsements to teach K-12 children with special needs. Since then, I have taught reading and mathematics to both children with special needs and regular education children at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. As I gained a greater thirst to do more to help children, outside of teaching in the public school setting, I bagan tutoring. Between teacing within the public school and tutoring outside of the public school setting, I gained a great deal of experience when it comes to identifying strategies that cause children to learn and retain what they have learned. After all was said and done, I finally capped my educational aspir

I always look forward to tutoring new people becuase I not only get to make a difference in their life by helping them master what they're struggling with, but I also get to learn about people and different learning styles. I view tutoring as a way to help others while improving my interpersonal skills. I value all the skills I gain from tutoring because they will be assets when I become a physician. Working with all ages from kindergarten to college has taught me patience and how to conform to different people's needs. I graduated from Vanderbilt University in May 2010, and I am currently applying to medical school. In high school and college, I tutored in math, science, English, and test prep. Math and Science are my favorite subjects, but I also have much experience with tutoring English and grammar. I have also tutored people preparing for tests such as the ACT, SAT, and Gateway.

Throughout many years of tutoring my peers and underclassmen, I have obtained several techniques to help students study effectively. Depend on each individual student and their study habit; I can adjust a specific agenda and curriculum to help strengthen their weakness and excel their strength. I am very patient and fun to be around. For me learning is a combination of fun and hard work. I tend to make the material easier to understand and to captivate their interest in the subject. I’ve graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2009. My Biology coursework has centered on theory, problem solving and critical thinking. I have taken multiple Biology, Chemistry, Physic, Math and Psychology classes which have enabled me to improve my knowledge and understanding of the subject. I have also taken various computer skills, writing, and test taking classes that can prepare student

The chance to tutor peers in high school was the initial spark towards considering education as a career. During my undergraduate studies the desire has grown as I was given the opportunity in the role of Teaching Assistant. I found from those experiences that I have an ability to gauge a student’s comprehension of the material during sessions. This allows me to make adjustments on-the-fly and in the process become more effective in accomplishing the objective. In my teaching, I look to engage students through whatever means at my disposal with a primary focus on participation. Learning must become pro-active. My love for teaching comes from a teacher who showed that in everything they do, a true inspiration. For just over a decade I have been involved in some form of peer education or mentoring. As a senior in high school, I tutored students in mathematics and science. As an ACS Certifi
