I have been in the health care profession for almost 20 years. I began my nursing career as a nursing assistant, worked as a LPN for 6 years before I became a RN in 2004. I received my Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2013 and am currently studying for a Masters of Nursing as an Educator. As a small boy I remember going to the small local library in Portsmouth, Virginia where the Librarian once said that she knew that if she would only have one patron for the day that it would be me. I have worked in three libraries during my career. During college I was selected as a Librarian Assitant based on my interest, academic achievement and overall poitive conduct at the university. I am currently a history teacher and have been teaching for 5 years. I received my BA in history from VCU in 2007. I went on to teach for one year before I entered into a graduate program at the University of Maryland, College Park. While in Maryland, I taught full-time and went to school full-time. I taught honors government and U.S. history. I now teach geography and world history. I also anticipate teaching AP U.S. history this school year.

I was a corporate trainer for 3 years, followed by 12 years serving as a software instructor. Prior to and throughout this time, I also taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible school, teaching everyone from 2 year olds to adults. I spent one summer as a reading tutor, and many of my software classes have been 1-on-1 tutoring sessions. I have volunteered as an SOL coach and in Head Start classrooms.
When I teach reading, I convey my love of reading. When I teach math, I convey the logical beauty of math. A Little Bit About Me...
