I am patient yet firm. I expect students to be accountable for their own success; I want my students to become self-sufficient. With proper guidance and encouragement most students will succeed if not excel.
I taught high school English for three years. My students ranged from far below basic to advanced. My students consistently showed improvement in their standardized test scores and over 95% of my students passed the course. Also, Over 95% of my sophomore passed the CAHSEE. In addition to my high school experience, I have been tutoring adult learners for the past three years, becoming the program manager two years ago. I am a licensed psychologist and I perform psychological assessments for the Department of Rehabilitation. I obtained an AA degree in mathematics in 1989. I currently work part-time as an Instructional Assistant at Sacramento City College. A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned one bachelor degree with a major in history and a minor in computer applications. I have work experience as both a tutor and a teacher. I was a tutor in the America Reads program while I was a junior in college. I worked in the classroom and tutored children one-on-one on an as needed basis. During my senior year of college I worked for AmeriCorps Jumpstart, where I learned many different and better ways of interacting with children.
