I firmly believe that every child is capable of learning hard concepts, they just have to be taught in a way that is applicable to them. So I first like to get to know the student and try to figure out their learning style and teach them according to how they learn. This helps me figure out where the root of the problem is so I can fix it. Then I like to use a lot of visual and hands-on lessons because children need that to really grasp concepts and to apply it in different situations. Being from the area and having worked in education my entire career, I have a good understanding of the needs of today's student. I currently work at a local University where I see firsthand the struggle underprepared students face. I am an experienced educator having taught every grade level from preK through college.
My style of teaching is adaptive for each individual student when possible. Each student has their own way of learning and it is my job to adjust to that. I try to meet the student where they are right now and devise a plan to fit what they want to do and accomplish the goals that they set.
