I have always approached a teaching lesson as a learning opportunity. Learning is a fundamental skill. If you don't have your basic fundamentals, your student will have difficulty advancing. So, I always start with basic fundamentals such as; note taking, study skills, and comprehension! All sciences demand the ability to link concepts together. Ex. cells make up tissues, tissues make up organs, organs make up organ systems,etc.....! My comments on tutoring Elementary Science : Certified K-6

I try to serve as a facilitator of learning, providing students with the knowledge and tools to solve problems and then encouraging students to solve them on their own. When students answer a problem incorrectly, I do not allow them to quit. I try to encourage them to figure out where they went wrong and to keep working at the problem until they get the correct answer, providing support and guidance where needed

Elementary Science is one of my top subjects!

I have a collaborative style of teaching. My ultimate goal is to get students to think, regardless of their age. With younger students, I tend to be much more directive so that we accomplish intended learning. With middle and high school students, I ask "Why" and "How do you know" quite often so that they learn to provide evidence for their thinking.
