My comments on tutoring American History : One of my favorite subjects in school. Still read about it constantly.

Very relaxed and encouraging. I use quite a bit of discussion, and I like to ask students questions that lead them down the path to help them discover the answers they seek. I have found that information is better retained if one can guide the student to the conclusion that they seek, building upon the knowledge that is already there. One of my favorite thing is watching stidents' faces when they have the "Aha!" Moments.

A Little Bit About Me...

My education, travel and work experience combined have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to be a great Social Studies tutor. I graduated with honors from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2008 with a BA in History and a minor in Russian. Also, I have spent a combined total of over two years studying, working, and vacationing abroad. I have witnessed first-hand the culture and history of places like Italy, Russia, and Ukraine, just to name a few. After I graduated from college, I began teaching 5th grade at Houston ISD’s Outdoor Education Center and remained there for a year and a half.
