There is not a best way to teach. Each child learns in a unique way for each subject. Some can learn easier if the lesson is put to music and they can learn a song or dance that embodies the knowledge. Others learn it if they can write it or color a picture of it. Involving all senses, smell and touch as well, can make lessons more concrete to the student. I have gained more patience and understanding with learners’ differences as I have aged and had more experience with the uniqueness of individuals. My teaching style is very specific to each student I tutor. I try to tailor my thoughts so that any student at any level in the subject can understand me. At the teaching center, the focus was to help guide the student to get the correct answer and not just give the answer. Sometimes the thinking process to achieving the correct answer is more important than the answer itself. I also try using diagrams and figures when they are called for to explain some of the topics.
