I have worked in schools in Kentucky and Ohio. I have been a tutor, intervention aide, long term substitute teacher, and regular classroom teacher. Columbus Public Schools 1987-1997: During this time period, I taught at the high school, middle school, and elementary level. I then left formal education to stay home with my children. While at home raising my daughters, I did home tutoring from 1989-2006. I then returned to teaching by doing home instruction for Bloom-Carroll (2003-2004)and Fairfield Union (2005). I then did two long-term subbing jobs at Pickerington HS North and Lakeview Junior High School in Pickerington for Intervention Specialists (2006 & 2007). I have always been driven to achieve a high level of excellence in my education and in my professional career. I have earned a BS in Business Administration with a Specialization in Risk Management and Insurance from The Ohio State University. I worked for Nationwide Insurance for a period of 13 years. I held positions ranging from Sales Support Manager to Financial Business Manager. Most recently I have earned my AAB in Accounting Technology from Ohio University while working towards my CPA requirements. I will be attending Columbus State Community College in the fall of 2010 to begin taking review classes for the CPA exam. I hope to have my CPA certification in 2011. I have written several essays, lab reports, and presentations and have been published in Guidepost Magazine. I have experience as a tutor and mentor from elementary (all subjects) to college level (science and English) students. I also have experience with developmentally challenged students.
