I have been able to use my degree in English as a resource for reading and writing and saw great results as my students' skills and interest levels soared as each year progressed. My unique approach to reading which is to stimulate interest in subject areas in advance of presenting materials seems to work wonders for children with limited life experience. I used both teacher-centered and student-centered styles because although coaching and facilitating a student in understanding the language, having the knowledge of which countries speak the language and the different terminology used by each countries can be a benefit to a student. I believe in interaction and practice of the language on the daily basis. It takes time to learn a new language but with practice, perfection follows.
