My comments on tutoring Genetics : Received an A+ in Genetics at Clemson University in the Fall of 2010

I am a visual learner and work well with other visual learners. I simplify the topic for the student for easy explanation and understanding, so we can then build upon the foundation for more in-depth understanding. I enjoy using diagrams and still have all of my resources from high school and college to utilize.
I have a passion for teaching others and spreading my knowledge- I enjoy not only helping a student to understand, but to also become a mentor. I have been tutoring since middle school, and throughout high school. Since I have been in college, I have been eager to tutor again. My knowledge is mostly in high school and college biology, anatomy, and physiology. I have over 12 years work experience in several areas. I have been teaching health science on a college level for 3 years. In the health science setting a teach a variety of areas such as medical terminology, biology, introduction to health careers, introduction to health occupations, and college introduction. I train pharmacy technicians as well as educate them on a variety of areas such as calculations, basic communication skills, basic reading skills, and grammar. A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with children and students of all ages. I was a volunteer at Shriners Childrens Hospital for many years in the recreational therapy department. I was a "class teacher" at a friend's daycare part time, and I held a summer job as a lifeguard and swim instructor for many years. I find that when teaching something new or difficult, it is best to find a way it relates to each individual. Once you discover this, you can make it fun and relavent for them.
