My approach to tutoring is that all students want to learn, some just need more of a push that others. It is my job to make the subject more relevant, interesting and understandable for them. While teaching, I employ the constructivist learning theory. I begin with what the student knows and build off of their prior knowledge. To test what they know beforehand, I would administer a short pretest on some basic skills and once that test has been evaluated, I will begin teaching from the information with the least familiarity.
