My comments on tutoring World History : College minor in social science, independent research in European/Soviet History. Have taught history of Latin America and Canada at 6th grade level.

I teach to the student's strengths and continually tailor my instruction to my observations and assessments of the student's learning preferences and progress. I have 12 years of K-12 experience as a special education teacher, and nine years experience as a tutor. I currently work and teach at the International School of Tegucigalpa. I am a high school world history, psychology and comparative government. I have also taught economics at the high school level. I have tutored students in Language Arts at the high school and middle school letters. I am also literate in Spanish.
I really enjoy teaching and using a variety of educational methods to reach students. Some students respond much better to one-on-one teaching methods than they do in a larger class environment. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very hands-on instructor, being heavily influenced from the Montessori education I received. I believe that a child has to genuinely want to learn if they are to succeed, and the key is getting them excited about the topic, to make them see how it is relevant to them and their education. A teacher that can show a passion for their subject to a student will undoubtedly sew a seed of curiosity into the student.
As the first in my family to go to college, I had a high drive to achieve my goals of obtaining my degree at Grand Valley State University, as well as studying abroad in Tokyo, Japan.
