I have always loved teaching and working with kids. I have volunteered at a number of places that allowed me to exercise my ability to tutor and mentor children ages 5-17. Since high school, I have volunteered at a local preschool. This past summer, I spent time in Honduras teaching English at an orphanage. I have a very concrete understanding of English and Spanish grammar, and I have spent the last four years studying writing at Grand Valley State University.
I believe that the teacher's most important job is to present material in a way that makes learning fun and interesting. A Little Bit About Me...

As the first in my family to go to college, I had a high drive to achieve my goals of obtaining my degree at Grand Valley State University, as well as studying abroad in Tokyo, Japan. In addition to my wide degree of historical knowledge, I also served as an independent English Conversation tutor in Tokyo, Japan while I studied at the International Christian University.
I am a very hands-on instructor, being heavily influenced from the Montessori education I received. I believe that a child has to genuinely want to learn if they are to succeed, and the key is getting them excited about the topic, to make them see how it is relevant to them and their education.
