With a Bachelors of Architecture and two Masters degrees in Computer Science and Instructional technology, I have had the opportunity to gain many skills in the area of mathematics. In addition, I have a learned a great more about mathematics by taking several courses in mathematics-related subjects. My first experience as a teacher came in high school when I held a part-time job at a Kumon Math and Reading Center. As an undergraduate student at Columbia University I held several after school tutoring positions, some paid and some volunteer. Upon graduation I decided to join Teach For America. For the past year and a half I have been teaching high school mathematics in rural Hawaii while concurrently pursuing a master of education in teaching degree from the University of Hawaii. Next fall I will be entering the MBA program at the MIT Sloan School of Management, but I will always remain interested in teaching.
