A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of a private college, I have always been driven to perform at the top of my game. I have received two Bachelors degrees in both English literature and theater. Early in my collegiate career I gained a position as a teaching assistant (TA) and taught a required first year course for 3 out of my 4 years of college. In this position, I noticed that a lot of writing skills were missing from first year students that I felt that they should hav possessed and created and implemented a collegiate level writing and researching workshop that the college still uses. In addition to my TA position, I tutored nursing students in anatomy and physiology and biology classes.

There is no feeling like the joy felt once a student grasps a concept you're trying to share. For that reason, I attempt to explain things in multiple ways. I also believe in honestly letting students know why and how their studies will benefit their future. The school setting is the perfect enviroment for character education. The combination of teaching academics and attitude together can lead a student on a path to success in all areas of life. It is my hope that students leave my care with a desire to reach their potential and be better than their peers.
I hold a provisional Teaching Certification from the State of Michigan; I have begun the process of transferring it to the State of Florida. A Masters degree in Education is in my near future.
