I have found that if a child is having trouble in a given subject, the first thing a teacher needs to do is access the child’s learning style. All children learn differently and if a child is having problems it is often because the information has only been presented one way. Therefore the material needs to be presented in various ways until the student learns it by which ever method works best for them. I get excited by helping children and adults learn and find it exciting to try to figure out why a student has not learned the subject area he/she is asking for help in. A Little Bit About Me...

I worked as a synthetic organic chemist at Eli Lilly pharmaceutical company for five years. I spent the next 20+ years as a stay-at-home mom and homeschooler, teaching my three children from kindergarten until they graduated from high school.(My two oldest are now college graduates and the third is presently in college.) During my years of homeschooling, I taught both chemistry and biology to high school students in our homeschool group. As an engineer and manager, training employees was an integral component of work performed throughout my ten-year professional career. I created systems and procedures, followed by training and "tutoring" for successful implementation. I also worked for the university during my college years as a Chemistry coach. I tutored students 20-hours per week for four years, providing one-on-one and team services. In high-school, I tutored elementary students in mathematics and reading.
