I have 40 years professional experience in Accounting, Budget, Auditing, Project Management and General Management. As an Audit Manager, I dealt with all levels of management at a Fortune 500 company. I taught elementary school children real world applications of mathematics as a volunteer in a business and community partnership program. I am comfortable working with children and young adults and I can readily establish rapport with children of all ages.
My style of teaching depends on the needs of the student, their skill level, potential and suggestions of the parents. If the student has no general learning difficulties and exhibits potential in other subjects, then I begin by creating a baseline and comfort level with the subject matter. I started out working as a Head Start teacher's assistant and the following year I was promoted to Head Start teacher and manager. I have also worked as a 1:1 instructional assistant with a high needs student. Currently I worked in a behavior school as an instructional assistant, and I have stepped in to plan curriculum and teach all the classes because the teacher has been on paid leave this year. I also have been commuting to college in Castleton State College from Springfield after work to complete my degree in education. I have done accounting and payroll for about six years prior to about a year and a half ago switching over to do work in Information Systems where I am presently.
