My passion is the arts. I have explored a variety of areas including fibers, painting, drawing, 3-D, mixed media, collage, clay, graphic design, etc. Skills from all academic areas are used in the arts from math to history. An arts educaiton has been proven to increase learning in these areas and raise test scores. I was a K-8 art public education teacher for three years. For the past three years, I have worked with special needs children in a private school. Other areas of interest include psychology, English, and history.

I have also taught Business at Middlebury Union High School in Vermont. I have 14 years of Corporate Training at L.L. Bean, ICT Corporation, and The Killington Travel Service. I also taught one graduate level course for teachers at Middlebury High School. The course was about transforming classes in to School To Work classes.
I posess a Bachelors Degree in Finance and a Masters Degree in Education. I have been able to successfully combine these two areas in school environments as well as corporate environments. As a music therapist, I learned to apply my creativity to design instruction that allows the learner to be actively and successfully engaged in learning. As a special educator, I learned to quickly problem-solve if a support strategy is not successful. I've worked with students with all levels of learning challenges (those with and without formal disability labels) and can help each learner become confident in their abilities.I understand how teachers are trained, keep current with research, and know how schools function structurally, which helps me think about where things may break down for the individual learner.
