A Little Bit About Me...

On hand 1 on 1, the same way I learned.
Learned sign-language hands on from my deaf neighbors.I speak fluent with letters and know most of basic words and actions.Basic nouns and verbs.I learned the full alphabet very fast,so my neighbors taught me how to say words without spelling them out.It was very challenging at first, but now flows like speaking English.

I believe that children learn best from hands on experiences. It is up to me, the teacher to create these experiences, guide the child, and provide lots of postive reinforcement. There are many ways to learn and it is up to the teacher to help the student find which ways they learn best. There is also many different areas of intelligence and every person has a strength in one or more of these areas. I am taking a class in my Master's program in which I have learned six different educational methods to use with students. Each method is different, and I have been able to learn and work through each of them. I am confident in my ability to concentrate learning through cooperative groups, presentations, direct instructions, problem based and discovery topics, concept lessons, and disscusions. I have also been taught in each lesson how to edit the lesson for English Language Learners, gifted students, and students who need more support. I believe that each child learns in their own unique way.
