My teaching style is laid back and comfortable. I like to use flash cards, fun games, and rhyming teachniques. I think children have to like their teacher to do well. Many of my former students have kept in contact with me over the years.. being invited to their graduations, weddings and other parties. I made a very good impression on them...as most often teachers can be forgotten as the years go by. I try to make learning fun and I like to incorporate color and coloring to work sheets and assignments. I am very creative.

My education includes a teaching certificate in education and a B.S. in business with a major in marketing and a minor in management. In addition, I am currently taking courses through Baker College to obtain an M.B.A. where I have maintained a 4.0 G.P.A. throughout the last year. I have worked as a music teacher for 10 years, and I spent one year working as a Title I paraprofessional. As a music teacher, my focus is on music literacy and appreciation. I strongly believe that every child has the right to a quality music education. My studio is student focused. Student learn jazz, rock, classical, latin and popular styles. There is an equal focus of reading and performing by ear. Song writing, music therory and improvization are included in students lessons as they show an appitude and willingness to progress. Students are at all levels beginner, intermediate and advanced.
