A Little Bit About Me...

Current MBA in Finance & Accounting Student, and owner of Start-up Company. 2009-2010 Denver CO. Organized after school program via church organization bringing in various graduate student volunteers for mathematics and English lessons, targeted for underprivileged youth trying to obtain GED's, as well as college entrance counseling. I have left the program due to a move, and to my knowledge the program is still ongoing. 2005-2007 Iowa City, Iowa. Tutored mainly in mathematics, including one elementary student and 2 college students.
I am a firm believer that most students may dislike subjects they may not completely grasp. I focus on foundation skills, real life examples, and making the material relevant for students. I earned both my Masters' and Bachelors' degrees with honors from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. During my academic I learned to excel in everything I do, which help me master the accounting knowledge I have today. While at SIUC, I was also involved in many student organizations such as Beta Alpha Psi, Accounting Society, and NABA. I was the tutoring chair for Beta Alpha Psi for two years and have acquired very good teaching skills. The Director of the School of Accountancy will be a good reference when you need one.
My teaching style is sample: Bringing the topic to the student understanding level and be positive about it. I believe that students need to put in a little more effort without which they cannot achieve their learning goals.
