If a student missed a skill, it is difficult to build upon it. Sometimes we must go back and re-teach that skill. Individualization is an important part of my teaching style. I think it is important to identify what the student needs to work on and present it in a way the student can grasp the concept and enjoy learning. The student has to enjoy learning to succeed. I try to present material in such a way that the student will find it interesting and use different techniques to help them remember what they have learned. I also use the pre-teaching/re-teaching strategy.
