Math Tutor for Algebra I & II, Geometry, College Math, etc.

I have 10+ years of experience in tutoring math to high school and college students as well as adults returning to school after a lapse in their schooling and also adults returning to school to get their GED. I have been employed the last 2 years by Wyzant.com tutoring students in Algebra I and Algebra II as well as Geometry. I have experience in working both public high school students as well as students who have been home schooled. I have also worked with students who have learning disorders such as ADD and ADHD as well as adults with PTSD and dyslexia.

I started teaching right out of college. Taught high school and college part time for 6 years. Left teaching for the computer business where I worked for 36 years. Retired from HP in 2001. Went back to teaching. I taught at Mount Royal Academy in Sunapee, NH for 7 years. I taught College Algebra and Pre-Calculus at River Valley Community College i Keene, presently as an Adjunct faculty member.
Most Math books recommend teaching for about half the class and then let students work some problems in class. I find this works well, it allows questions and the class becomes interactive. I encourge questions while I am introducing a subject and find it gives me a chance to use different examples to get a poinnt across. Any assignments I give outside the classroom can be addressed in the next class.
