My comments on tutoring Trumpet: I have been playing trumpet since the fifth grade and have learned and mastered the basics. I take private lessons, have been featured as a top member of my ensembles, as a soloist, and selected for special ensembles. I have been in Area All-State, the Empire State Repertory Orchestra, and was the president of my school Wind Ensemble. I have mentored others to help them help the quality of the ensemble, and am confident in my ability to teach others what I have learned.
I have helped my classmates and have had one official student as of this summer. However, I have learned how to explain concepts so that students dont just memorize, they will gain a thought process and applicable knowledge that will enable them to solve even the most complex problems. Having this mentality of preparation and success will being them to reach their goals. Teaching new concepts, practice applying the new material, review, and more practice of the material to solidify the concepts.
