A Little Bit About Me...

My best contribution has always been coupled with my crossover between practical, "real-world", skills and academics. I have always had a desire to share things that interested me with others, starting with Karate as a teen and continuing onward through more complex academic disciplines. Every one can learn. Sometimes an individual learns in their own unique style and finding that style is the key to teaching them. The best way to teach someone is to guide them when they come to a road block, rather than to give them the answer. I believe all students have the ability to succeed. In my experience, the most important thing to remember is that all students learn differently, and sometimes what seems like an impossible task just needs to be presented differently for better understanding. Relating the material to situations and applications that are relevant and familiar to that particular student is a much more productive and beneficial way to have students retain information. I try very diligently to make each learning experience count and have students enjoy the learning process.

I earned a BS in Aeronautics and have completed some graduate work in aerodynamics and meteorology. In addition to having given approximately 3000 hours of instruction in aviation subjects, I have authored several textbooks on aircraft design and construction. I've been both a research pilot and a captain on a cargo airline.
