My comments on tutoring Typing Skills : As a high school student many years ago I elected to follow a typing course which proved to be of unexpectedly great value throughout many of my professional associations. In these modern times expert typing has become essential due to technological advances. I feel quite qualified to offer instruction so as to provide students with this extremely important mode of communication. I type accurately at a quite satisfactory rate.

For the greater part of my life I have been involved in various facets of education. After completing my undergraduate degree in English Literature at Florida State University, I worked as a substitute teacher in Hillsborough County for two years. In 2009, I completed my Master's Degree in Communication at University of South Florida while simultaneously employed at the Department of Special Education. I have been tutoring with Advanced Learners for 1 year and am currently an Adjunct Instructor of Public Speaking at HCC Dale Mabry.
Once while subbing, I entered a classroom where the students had been allowed to watch Jerry Springer on TV for the last two weeks. I couldn't let this continue, but I saw how emotional the class was about the show. I encouraged them to write their own talk show and told them we would perform it the next day. I find that connecting student's interest with the subject matter to be learned is the best way to teach.
