A Little Bit About Me...

I spent nine semester at FMCC in the TRiO Student Support Services program. I began as a part time tutor and after one semester the program director saw it prudent to keep me on. During my time with the program I helped to establish several tutoring programs, one at FM and another at Amsterdam High School for the Upward Bound Grant funded program. In my spare time I do private in home tutoring for students seeking to improve their grades and become adept at taking standardized tests. Currently I am providing mathematics tutoring for the EOP program at Cobleskill Community College. Several nights a week I assist several EOP students at a time in courses like Basic Math, Algebra, Calculus, Statistics, and Pre-Calculus.

I enjoy tutoring enough to do it for free, which I have done for my friends from time to time. I’m a friendly laid back person who loves to learn and help others learn, particularly in a one on one setting. I’m quite good at breaking a subject down into an understandable step by step process and making sure they not only know the answers, but how and why they got the answers. I am a very driven person. I have both a Bachelor and Master degree. These degrees have given me the skills to be able to teach students the best that I can. I have taught 2nd-5th grade.
