It wasn't long before math was my favorite class and I changed my major. When I was in school I helped a lot of my classmates with calculus. My comments on tutoring College Algebra : Took in high school.

I believe in success. There is no guarantee someone will learn on the first try. It's all about enjoying the learning experience and positive reinforcement. I also believe in humor and think that it can help a lot in peoples difficult situations.
I have helped tutor AVID high school students when I was a senior at Cherry Creek High School. I enjoy helping the kids learn and believe that being a tutor would pay it forward since I had so much help from tutors. I always helped my friends out because I was in higher level classes than them some of the times. I also worked with tutors and know how much of a difference they can make. I'm currently studying at CSU and still work with friends on homework if they need help.

A Little Bit About Me...

While I was attending Weber State University, my part-time employment was to be a mathematics tutor for recent high school grads who did not pick up math from the elementry levels. I would tutor 8 hrs a day in between my classes for two years Student Support Services in Ogden UT where the college is located. I am at present a test evaluator for Kelly Services grading the Massachusetts math test for MCAS in Longmont CO.
I teach straight forward using the math laws which makes math logical and easy to understand. Algebra is the key to understanding all other levels of calculus and physics which is applied mathematics as well as chemistry.

Teaching children takes patience and creativity. Each child is different in their attention span and interests. Making each subject important and interesting is one place to start. It is crucial to never let a child give up, and not to give up on them yourself. My goal in teaching is to determine which way the child learns, for example a visual learning may need to draw out spelling words, where an audible learner needs to recite them. I love to find new ways to relate what they are learning with life outside of school and in this way show them how important the subject is.
