I am a very adaptable teacher--I can easily pick up on a student's needs and abilities, and work to their strengths in that way. With grammar and mechanics, I have found that a directive manner is often the best approach; sometimes, however, students require clarification of ideas and organization, in which case I pose questions and share observations, rather than instruct.
