I was a public school teacher for 30 years. I recently retired and attended training for a multi sensory approach to dyslexia another learning difficulties. My first experience as a tutor was in my college tutor lab. I tutored both college level Math and Chemistry. I found that students I tutored found it easier to understand complex concepts when their individual needs could be addressed one on one. If a student does not understand a concept the first way I explain it we try again a different way, but if they do understand we can move on and not waste their time.
