My teaching style varies from student to student. However, the basic foundation is the same. I like to develop the fundamentals and build a foundation on top of them. I also like to see the students do a certain problem that they are struggling with in front of me. Moreover, I like them to talk out loud so I can follow their thought process and identify where they are struggling and help them better understand any steps that they have simply remotely memorized. In this manner, not only do they better understand the problem at hand, but they are also capable of tackling similar problems without any need of memorizing steps. For example, to help a geometry student understand the significance of the area of a prizm, I asked him to consider how much paint he needs to buy if he wants to re-paint his room.
