For over three years I worked as a writing tutor for Southern Utah University's Writing Center where I helped students improve both their academic and creative writing. As an undergraduate at SUU, I also taught poetry writing to high school students and facilitated creative writing workshops. I have also tutored students in reading and mathematics. While much of my formal education is in English, I am a student of multiple disciplines. I am currently pursuing a BS in physics and recently completely one year at the University of Utah

My skills, which I learned in the Education Bachelor's degree program at the University of Connecticut, emphasize the development of critical thinking and clear expression in student work. My experience includes working with struggling students in every area, from Advanced Placement to non-traditional learners, so I incorporate many different methologies to help students succeed. I believe that goals are important in lesson planning and children benefit from structure as long as it isn’t rigid.
