A Little Bit About Me...

I like to be one-on-one, or in a small group. That way the person I am working with gets full attention, and isn't in a classroom setting where they don't get the on-on-one help they could use.
I have been working with a dyslexic kid for about 4 months, and I love it. I not only help him comprehend and understand words, numbers, but I also focus on his weaknesses which is math and english. I don' t do the work for him but I help him when he makes a mistake and helps correct it. I teach him new tricks and ways about going at his work. This way he can have maybe an easier way for him to work the same problems.

Each student has an individual learning style, and I like to determine ways that each student learns best, and teach to that style. In the classroom, I do not believe in giving the students pointless busywork or worksheets, but rather prefer to include all the students in discussion and peer-led reinforcement of a lesson I presented.
