I tutored before but of course I wasn't paid for it because it was at my old elementary school. I helped children from ages 8-13 which I was only 11 or 12 at the time. I maybe young to tutor children and maybe I should wait until I'm 18 but, I love helping children with their homework and watch them accomplish the subject.

My comments on tutoring Piano : With a BA degree in Music education I recently worked for 3 years at a local Piano Academy prior to my move to Nashville, TN. While teaching at the academy I was able to teach piano students of all ages, and really learn to tailor a lesson to the student. I also have 2 years of experience providing private piano instruction using various piano curricular apart from an academy.

I have no preference, I thoroughly enjoy the one on one experience and watching my individual students grow right before my eyes. However, I also enjoy working with groups of students at a time, no more than 3-4 students in a small group. I thrive in the master class setting of instruction as well, so I am completely open to all types of instruction, as long as my listener is growing.
My passion for music education was birthed through a childhood of great music exposure and music teachers. As a college graduate in Music Education, I sought to follow this passion for music and shared it with the hundreds of young lives I would teach. When I was in elementary school I would help my mother with daycare at our home. I would teach the children new concepts and play with them. During high school I joined the pathfinder club and taught some of the younger children. During college, I tutored elementary children in reading and in math and would make interventions for them. I graduated from Southern Adventist University December 2018 with a bachelors in elementary education. I have spent time substitute teaching in elementary classrooms, working as a behavior teachers assistant, and working at summer camps.
I love making lessons fun and interactive for children. If a children does not understand a concept one way I find other ways to explain it.

A Little Bit About Me...

For the majority of my life, I have been working with and or around early elementary age children. I feel that I am best suited for this age group, as I enjoy watching them learn/discover new things. I have been a professional musician since 1978, teaching other musicians theory, performance etc. What can I say? I grew up in a music store! I've taught guitar, bass guitar, piano, drums and piano technology. Most of my students are now professional musicians. I don't use any techniques out of any book, each person is different and their needs are also.
My father had a piano rebuilding shop and I worked for him begining at age 12, in every aspect of piano rebuilding, regulating and tuning. Do I need to say more? Over 40 years of working on pianos is more than most piano tuners have. I don't use tuning machines, God already gave me 2 on each side of my head that work much better. I could write a long paragraph of blah blah trying to impress you but over 40 years of pianos says it all.
