I am about to complete my first year at IU School of Dentistry. I completed my B.S. in Biology at IPFW with a 4.0 GPA and love learning! Science is my specialty but I enjoy other subjects as well. In 1992 I graduated from Bowling Green State University (BGSU) with a degree in music education, vocal and trumpet emphasis. Since then, I have been employed by Defiance Area Youth for Christ, and it has been my privilege to assist young people to acheieve their fullest potential in every aspect of their lives. A Little Bit About Me...

Presently retired. 25 years of teaching locally at Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne and at ITT in Fort Wayne. Other localities include Idaho, Arizona, and South Carolina. 20 years as an engineer on Government Projects including the Minuteman Missile, Loss of Fluid Test reactor, Roland Missile Project, Parts of the Lunar Excursion Module etc.
My success in tutoring was more visible to me at ITT in the period between 1995 to 2006. I got to know the student's problems with the subject matter and was able to help them more accurately than in the classroom. I was very pleased with the results of this process. The course involved statistics, math, physics, calculus.

My undergraduate degree is in French however I took extensive coursework in mathematics and chemistry and have a good understanding of all the sciences. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored other students in science courses and lead a laboratory course. These were rewarding experiences as I watched my peers learn and thrive in academics. While working toward my Masters in Environmental Science I was able to teach the laboratory portion of an introductory course for two years. This allowed me to develop lesson plans, tests and quizzes and lab activities. My teaching style is based on the student. One teaching style does not fit everyone. I have to see how the student learns and then adapt my teaching style to meet his or her needs. I love helping people, and especially when they get it. That is so rewarding.
I was a tutor while in college. I tutored students in History, Accounting, and Greek. I was a double major:Accounting and Christian Ministry. I was a substitute teacher in Indiana from 1990-1994.
