My teaching style is to engage young people into the developmental process, through empowerment. By allowing young to have a say in their own development, I find it makes them more willing to be open for learning. I am driven by my passion for young people to succeed; and I am always open for incorporating their ideas into the teaching process.
As, a product of the inner city, I was always interested in helping young people who came through the same path as I. I have a BA, in Broadcast and Communication Arts, and a Masters in Social science in many history subjects. To aid in my teaching abilities, I have work, in Research and Community Development for over thirty years. I have trained young people to go in the community and make presentations particularly around health, for over twenty years.

I have always valued a good education so I earned dual bachelor degrees in English and Psychology from H.B.U. while working and raising two girls. After graduation I worked in college admissions for several years before deciding that I wanted to educate students instead of recruiting them. During the last year, I worked with elementary, middle, and high school students in the areas of tutoring and substitute teaching, which helped me gain a deeper understanding of what motivates students to learn.
