I have been tutoring since I was in high school. Between that and teaching Sunday School and Children's Church, I have more than ten years of experience. I have tutored children whose ages range from elementary school to high school. I have also tutored adults to help with college classes and help prepare for GED tests. I have taught special education since August of 1989. I began at Dunn Middle School with a mildly mentally handicapped self-contained class. After three years I taught for one year at Clayton Primary in a multi-handicapped class. I then transferred to Four Oaks Middle School in 1993 where I continue to teach. The first year there I taught a self-contained mentally handicapped class, and since then I have taught through the inclusion model. I have four children of my own and home schooled each one through elementary school and some middle school. They returned to public school for middle school where I then provided tutoring for other classmates. I know sometimes math as well and other subjects come harder for one than the other so I realize the tutoring session needs to be geared toward that particular child. I love to teach by using the hands on technique. I will do whatever I can to see that the student grasp what is being taught.
