Following my graduation from the University of Connecticut I pursued a career in the insurance industry but have also spent time working as a youth group leader and worked as a part-time tutor for several years. While living in Connecticut I tutored homebound high school age children who were either out on medical leave or expelled for disciplinary purposes. I am proud to report that in addition to several other students, I provided tutoring for a full course load covering an entire year for one expelled student who improved grades in every course and went on to graduate. I have also created training programs and hired and trained numerous employees in the insurance industry and serve as co-chair for an annual insurance educational conference held in New York City. I was more of an instructor than a teacher. I was a day camp counselor at Solway House parent/child resort in Saugerties N.Y. I instructed kids how to swim, dive, play various sports and gave dancing lessons to the guests. As a high school student I tutored 7th and 8th graders in an after school community center.
