Today is a great day to learn something new!

I foster development of the whole student by encouraging critical thinking. My methods are adjusted to meet the students needs with an individualized approach. My goal is to promote self learning and help students develop necessary critical thinking skills.
I am a full-time high school teacher with over 12 years of experience in education. I specialize in Science, but have experience teaching and tutoring most levels and subjects. Throughout my 12 years in public education I have developed many skills to accommodate various student needs. I have a love for learning and inspiring my students to be life-long learners by making content meaningful. A Little Bit About Me...

Teacher of English as a Second Language – that was my initial BA. Being a native Russian speaker, I was able to understand nuances of learning and teaching foreign languages. After three years of experience as a school teacher I was awarded a Teacher of the Year scholarship. Then I began to practice personal tutoring. MA in Directing and Acting provided me with even deeper understanding of applied psychology. I worked as a professor and tutored both college and high school students. Plus, submission of research, professional reports and numerous articles gave me an insight into paper writing. As a graduate student at Bay Path College in Longmeadow, MA I have mastered the fields of finance, accounting, technical writing, and computer skills. As a paralegal, my attention to detail has allowed me to master all rules of grammar and language format. I was more of an instructor than a teacher. I was a day camp counselor at Solway House parent/child resort in Saugerties N.Y. I instructed kids how to swim, dive, play various sports and gave dancing lessons to the guests. As a high school student I tutored 7th and 8th graders in an after school community center. I was one of a few staff at the University of Connecticut to instruct graduates and staff in the use of the various electronic facilites available to them.
