I like the one on one aspect of tutoring. I enjoy teaching, but I really like tutoring because I get to know the child and am able to help him/her with his or her specific area of need. I like to make learning fun by playing learning games with the student. I am a Christian and I believe all children are unique and have their own abilities. I believe a child can accomplish anything to the best of their ability if he or she puts his or her all into it. I want to see children succeed and feel confident in who they are as a person.

A Little Bit About Me...

I attended a preparatory school in Junior High and High School. I then went on to Mississippi College where I obtained a Bachelor degree in Home Economics with an emphysis on Fashion Merchandising. When I became a mom, I decided to home school my kids so that I could take an active part in their education and I could guide them in ways that someone else might not find interesting or important.
I love to learn and everyone learns differently. I believe that if the information is not being understood one way, then we need to find another way to instruct. Hands-on learning and learning through experience always leaves a lasting impression. I have loved education since I was a child, and being the daughter of two educators gave me a lot of early learning opportunities. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Education from Northeastern State Univeristy. I was a para professional for 5 years and worked with special education classrooms, then I taught for 5 years. I taught Pre-K and 2nd Grade, and I loved it.
I believe all children can learn. What I have learned is that tapping into an aspect of the child's interest and using that to build the foundation for their learning is the best way to teach.
